The Beatrice Project has been set up to help restore dignity and opportunity to women in rural Zimbabwe by providing affordable sanitary protection.
The Beatrice Project is a pilot scheme with the aim of addressing some of the most basic needs of poor and vulnerable girls in marginalized rural communities. The inadequacy of existing sanitary protection, coupled with cultural attitudes and poverty, prevent their attendance at school during menstruation. One of the Project’s main goals is to enable school girls fully to exploit the educational opportunities available to them through the provision of safe, affordable sanitary protection.
With such important goals, BFT is proud to have donated £18,000 to the Beatrice Project in 2020.
